Paerata Primary students care for their environment

Grafton Downs Executive Director pays Paerata Primary a visit

Having heard from students at Paerata Primary that there were concerns about what might become of the Whangapouri Stream, Chris Johnston, Grafton Downs Executive Director, paid the school a visit.

The stream, which flows near the primary school, is special to students and a neighbourhood favourite, especially of those who enjoy bush walks in the area.

Accompanied by Boffa Miskell ecologists, Katrina McDermott and Georgia Cummings, Johnston answered student questions, and spoke about what the stream will look like during and after the development of Paerata Rise.

“Keeping locals informed and collaborating with the community is imperative to us as the development commences,” Johnston says.
